Cambridge 7630 Microplate reader uses classical complex lens system rather than fibre optics to create the light beam yielding better collimation than is feasible with fibre optic-based designs. This parallel column of light is detected by a large-diameter silicon sensor, ensuring maximum detection of all transmitted light over a wide wavelength range: from 340 nm to 750 nm. The transmitted light is accurately measured by low noise circuitry five filters included: 340,450, 500, 550 and 600.
