Pharmacia PhastSystem high speed electrophoresis system consists of a Separation-Control unit for system control and electrophoresis, and a Development Unit for gel staining. Electrophoresis is performed on a thermostatic plate capable of maintaining temperatures accurately from 0 to +70 C. Multi-step programming capability allows gels to be pre run, loaded and run automatically. Controlled parameters include temperature, voltage, current, power, and volt-hours.The whole idea behind the Phast System is extreme ease of use and speedy runs. The stainless steel development unit is capable of processing two gels simultaneously at temperatures from ambient to +50 C. Up to nine different reagents can be used in a single processing program.
